Are you lost on what to put on your Christmas list? Want to redesign your wardrobe, but don’t know what to put? Here are a few items to put on your wish list.
First we’ll start with the basics. You’re going to want a pair of baggy jeans, and a pair of bootcut jeans. These two jeans go with any outfit and can be styled in many ways. Then add a few tanks tops (you’re going to want these to be fitted, so that they can go underneath any items that might show too much skin). Get these in three colors, black, white, and a statement color of your choice (mine is red). The neckline for these doesn’t matter, since they are normally going to be underneath a different shirt. You’ll also want to buy a thin lace cami. You’ll want to avoid any deep v necks with these, as these will be used to go underneath shirts with a deep v neck. It’s best for this one to be thin, so you won’t see the outline through your shirt.
You can also add a few long sleeve basics. A fitted long sleeve in black and white will save your outfits on colder days, and they layer perfectly under cropped tees or jerseys. A bolero or shrug is also a good idea, especially if you want to make sleeveless tops a little more modest without covering the whole outfit.
Now we can get into the fun stuff. Add some babydoll tops of your choice, you’ll pair these tops with your new lace camis, to avoid any protruding necklines. Then add some cropped shirts. These can be jerseys or camo tops, anything that you like! These you will pair with the tank tops, this helps avoid showing your midriff. A top that you don’t have to pair with anything would be a graphic tee! These can be worn loose, tucked in, or tied in the back. You can also add a couple of cute cardigans to your list, thin ones for layering and chunky ones for cozy winter outfits.
For outerwear, you might want to add a puffer jacket or a bomber jacket. Both match the Y2k vibe and go with almost everything. A good everyday zip hoodie is another essential that you’ll wear all the time.
And we can’t forget our favorite part, accessories!! Find a nice plain white belt, this belt will go with every outfit!! Most Y2k styles are all about chunky jewelry. So put a lot of bracelets and necklaces and rings on your wishlist! You can also add earmuffs, a cute mini purse, a big tote for school, leg warmers, a pair of sunglasses, and even some hair bows or claw clips to finish off your looks. If you’re into beauty, you can also add lip glosses, a nice perfume, and some nail sets.
Basically, think of items that make you excited to get dressed, things that make your style easier, cuter, and more “you.” This list is the perfect place to start!
Have fun creating your new wardrobe, but always remember your true beauty comes from inside. Keep Jesus close to you, and honor Him in all you do!
